Vintage Cars:
The time between World War One and the stock market crash of 1929 is considered by many to be the vintage car era. During these years, automobile manufacturers expanded on their technological breakthroughs from earlier in the century and sent cars down the road to pervasiveness.
Its end date though is a little murky but many experts insist that it was at toward the end of 1930's. That is why several autos made after 1925, which some American vintage car experts say is the end of the era, are considered to be vintage cars as well as just cars. There are also those that considered the end of the First World War and the start of the Second World War as the vintage car era. Either way, the vintage car era was when many automotive experts, enthusiasts and aficionados consider this as one of the greatest eras in automotive history as many innovations were installed and many more people could afford them.
Vintage cars are broadly defined as those cars, which were built between 1919 and 1930. In general terms vintage cars are also known as classic cars and antique cars. But car lovers have their own definitions regarding these three terms. The British definition of vintage cars is quite strict about 1930 being the cut-off, while some American sources prefer 1925 since it is the pre-classic car period as defined by the Classic Car Club of America.
An antique car is defined by the Antique Automobile Club of America is a car that is over 25 years old. But in case of registration as antique cars, there are differing laws in different countries. The term “classic” also implied Vintage Cars but the definition has stated Antique Cars as the high-end vehicles that was made in the years before the World War II. Vintage cars are found in all countries including India.
The Ford Motor Company is an example of what went on with the automobile companies that formed before World War One. In 1908, Henry Ford made the first Model T, and then in 1913 created a moving assembly line for mass producing automobiles which changed manufacturing and helped bring about the Industrial Revolution. His Model T was the best selling car in the world, but other automobile manufacturers began surpassing Ford, producing cars with more features and in a variety of colors and styles.
Vintage Cars marks the period of transition in the history of car making. The vintage period starting in the year 1919 was the time when automobiles were a typical luxury item and in the absence of proper roadways it was also difficult to maintain them. But at the end of the vintage period, there were roadways and more and more people had bought cars for easier way of transportation. Power steering, antifreeze and fuel octane rating were also introduced.
There are a substantial number of vintage cars in India. Most of these vintage cars belong to erstwhile Rajas, Maharajas, and Nawabs. To showcase the heritage of the bygone era and to popularize vintage cars, vintage car rallies are held from time to time and they draw fairly good crowds.
Tony Rippon is neither eccentric nor bewhiskered, but in many ways he is an emblem of the enthusiasm which is the basic underpinning of the market. Having fallen in love with motor racing at an early age, he raced Bugattis from the 1950s to the '70s and passed this passion on to his twin sons, who, two years ago, drove across a number of continents in a 1939 Lancia Aprilia.
Vintage car rallies focus on showcasing vintage cars, and are of special interest to those car enthusiasts who are fascinated with vintage cars. During a vintage car rally, a group of vintage car owners and/or drivers will drive their vintage cars from one point to another, and will drive on roads open to the public. So, even people who have no idea the vintage car rally is going on may be in for a treat if they happen to pass the vintage cars on their way home.
The dealer Stanley Mann sells only vintage Bentleys (vintage cars are those built up to 1931 while classic cars are post-1931, although the definitions are often used loosely). Despite the family business being a kosher butcher shop, he was always fascinated by cars.

Classic Cars:
If you are the proud new owner of a classic or antique car, you will want to take the best care of it that you possibly can. You may be wondering about insurance for your classic car. Generally, classic car insurance is not as expensive as regular automobile insurance. Some insurance agents are unclear about what is required for these beauties. They will try to sell you a regular, basic auto insurance policy. But, insurance coverage on a classic car is different than the coverage you would choose for a car that you drive every day.
How many of you remember the first car you owned, or the family car when you were a child? And how often do you see cars from those bygone eras on the streets of Tokyo? To the untrained eye, the answer is likely to be 'almost never,' as the Japanese preference (or obsession) with things clean, tidy and new ensures most old cars are retired or exported before they reach their teenage years.
A good insurance agent who knows his automobiles will know that classic cars are not driven anywhere near as much as most people drive their every day cars. When they are driven, they are handled very carefully, with no excessive speed or rough handling. Therefore, classic cars are not as apt to have an accident or cause an accident. These cars are also garaged a good bit of the time when they are not being displayed at a car show or taken out for a short run every couple of weeks to keep the battery up.
Most, but not all insurance companies have taken these facts into consideration and have devised a policy that is just for classic cars. They realize that these cars will not cost their company as much as an every day car might, and are kind enough to give the classic car owner a discount on their car insurance. You might even find an insurance company that will offer you what is called an ‘agreed value' coverage.
This type of policy will cover the full insured value of your classic car just in case something should happen to it. This should not be confused with the standard policy, which will pay the actual cash value. This is different from the agreed value. The actual cash value is the cost to replace your car minus the amount that the insurance company determines that the car has depreciated. This depreciation could be a huge amount, so of course, the agreed value coverage is much preferred.
You do not have to worry about getting an appraisal for your classic car with most insurance companies unless you have a very rare or very expensive car. But, you may want to spend the reasonable sum that this would cost in order to find out how much your car is actually worth before you insure it.
Usually people think of car designers as those who deal with the shape of an automobile body. Certainly, these have changed over the years. It's obvious that car chassis today differ greatly from those in the past. Old cars that have been saved, and well maintained or restored, become "Classic" or "Vintage" cars. They are sought after by serious collectors and are very expensive. Classic car rallies are held throughout the country and car owners spend thousands of dollars to decorate their cars artistically. These cars are kept in such mint condition that every component, inside and out, is polished to perfection.
Each classic car also has movable engine internals: remove the head or oil pan, hand crank the engine, and watch the action of the crankshaft, pistons, and fan. The Bugattis have dual camshafts that even actuate the valves in proper sequence. Most cars (Bugattis excepted) have real wire wheels that are assembled one spoke at a time, with over 120 pieces per wheel.
Meanwhile, antique cars are more or less equivalent to classic cars. The Antique Automobile Club of America also define a 25 year old car as old enough to be called antique or, in this case, classic. It is generally considered that 25 is a good cut-off year because most cars will have exceeded their design life by 10-15 years.
A vintage car is usually described a car built between 1919 and 1930, although there is some debate about the ending date for this term. Cars manufactured during this time became more practical, convenient, and comfortable than previous models.

Antique Car Restoration:
The Antique Auto Shop is solely dedicated to quality classic and antique car restorations. Vintage vehicles, antique and classic cars arrive from all over the country to receive the quality restoration they deserve. Recent car restorations include a 1954 MGTF, 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1964 Jaguar Roadster and a 1957 Chevrolet truck.
Perhaps, the greatest benefit of having your antique car professionally restored is the end result. In the United States, there are a fairly good number of individuals and companies who specialize in antique car restoration. Many of these individuals and companies are highly trained and experienced in car restoration. This experience often means that you are guaranteed better results, when compared the results you would likely get when doing your own antique car restoration. Of course, it is important to examine which professional you hire. Be sure to view samples of previous restoration projects, examine feedback online, or inquire about restoration training.
Authentic vintage cars generally cost quite a bit to fully repair and restore back to their original state. You have to consider the custom interior upholstery, carpet and woodwork, as well as the exterior paint, bumpers, rims, grill and tires. Often the owner of a vintage car will prefer a custom paint job fully resembling the car's original colour. Therefore it may be prudent to contact a local automobile restoration shop that generally deals with classic and antique cars on a regular basis. This will help ensure that the interior and exterior repair process goes smoothly. Just be sure to check around at all local restoration businesses before making a decision. You may find that they offer different services and vary in price.

The individual or company is question is also important, namely their training and experience. If the antique car restoration company or specialist you want to work with is claiming that they are experts, how is that so? What type of training have they or their employees undergone? How many cars have been restored in the past? How many of those cars were similar to yours? These questions may give you an idea as to whether or not you are truly dealing with experienced professionals. It may be best to ask to see samples of past work, instead of just taking someone's word.
Cost is another factor that should be examined, when choosing an antique car restoration company or specialist. As you likely already know, antique car restoration can get quite costly. Of course, the cost is worth every penny, but it might be a little bit more than you can afford. If you find it difficult to afford an antique car restoration project right now, you are urged to wait until you have a little bit more money. Too many individuals mistakenly believe that they can save money by performing their own antique car restoration or by hiring an individual or company who charges "rock bottom prices." The quality isn't guaranteed; in fact, it isn't always the best. That is why it may be best to wait.
Your car's make and model, the experience of the antique car restoration company or specialist, and the cost of restoration are just a few of many things that you want to keep in mind, when searching for someone to restore your antique car. Keeping the above mentioned points in mind is the best way to ensure that your antique car restoration meets or exceeds your expectations.
The beginning years were wild and exciting as manufacturers, employees and customers pushed and shoved for their wants and rights. Plants produced pollution without regard; employees went on strike and formed unions; and the customer ruled - developing an insatiable appetite for more and more and more. This was the Antique Car Era: A time of "anything goes". And while hampered by the depression and two World Wars, it continued until the Vintage Car Era began in 1950, followed by the Classic Car Era in 1960.

Vintage Car Enthusiasts
What are classic cars and when did the whole classic cars
bandwagon began? As per the early 1930s, a group of young sports
car enthusiasts started their own Vintage Sports Car Club where
the word classic car was invented in Britain. This was the place
where they would join together to exchange ideas on the heritage
classic cars and their better quality as compared to car models
developed later. It took several years for people to have a
curiosity for classic cars or the vintage cars. In the late
1970s these heritage cars started getting the much needed public
attention. Classic cars and trucks were built between 1960 and
1970. The word classic symbolizes an early time period.
Mercedes, Ferrari, BMW, Rolls Royce and Bentley are all time
classic cars models having a very great heritage along with
them.
High quality COLOUR photographs of antique/vintage autos in

Every classic car has a history of good and bad times. Some
classic cars get popular due to an inbuilt mechanical feature
while others just look good on the outside. In the early times
cars like Jaguar had the potential to make heads turn, as it
looked stunningly attractive while on the other hand it had a
poor motorized strength. The statement had spread about Jaguar
being misleading dream vintage cars of the young enthusiasts.
Many cars though did not survive the ordeal and some racers
didn't even get to finish the race. But they were still
magnificent race cars that were the epitome of sports cars then.
Due to some accidents that killed their drivers, maimed their
vehicles and also killed some spectators, the races were
discontinued for a while.
The Mille Miglia races soon were resurrected after a three
year hiatus during the war era. More cars from different
European countries joined but it was still the Italians who
dominated the events. But the races were discontinued after ten
years as more accidents happened.
Today, the Mille Miglia is best remembered for the
competition that took place and the prestige it gave those that
came out on top. For vintage car enthusiasts though, it was the
vintage race car entries that captures their fancy.
Each and every Mille Miglia vintage car race entry that
competed in the race were machines that were superior in that
era. Each of them had a distinct advantage over the other and
those were the sports cars that people coveted then. Presently
though, some people still would like to get their hands on these
mechanical beauties, not to race them, but to restore them and
to show to others, sharing a part of a historical mark in
automotive racing.
Each Mille Miglia vintage car race entry was generally
European automotive brands. In the first ever race; it was the
Italian brand Om that took the first three spots.
Many of these brand names still exist today and are known for
their super cars that exceeds the normal capabilities of other
everyday vehicles. For a selected group of car buffs, it is the
vintage race cars of these well-known brands that they are
after.
Fortunately though, there are still some of these vintage
race cars that exist today. And the fact that they have joined
the Mille Miglia gives them a distinct aura from the others even
with the same brand, make and model. As a Mille Miglia vintage
car race entry they can proudly wear this honor as a badge and
this makes them more priceless.
